About Hively Construction
Hively Construction has been built on a longstanding commitment to excellence, efficiency, and the development of an exceptionally talented network of employees, suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners. These values, established from the company’s earliest days, helped shape Hively Construction into a major force in the Tri-County area. Since our founding in 1986, our team has grown from just two employees to nearly one hundred. As we continue to expand, we are equipped to handle more volume than ever before, supported by state-of-the-art technologies and a strong work ethic. Our portfolio includes projects for many prominent names across their industries—schools, banks, strip plazas, prisons, institutions, commercial and industrial warehouses, office buildings, and retail facilities.

Founder
Lee R. Hively, Jr. founded Hively Construction in April of 1986, building on a lifelong connection to his community and a deep commitment to the construction industry. A 1974 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Lee was a proud lifelong resident of Canfield, Ohio. He began his career in the field, working as a laborer for nine years and advancing to roles as Foreman and Job Superintendent. His dedication and skill later led him into Estimating and Project Management, experiences that ultimately inspired him to establish Hively Construction.
Lee was also deeply involved in his community. He served as past president of The Youngstown Shrine Club and contributed his time and leadership to numerous organizations, including The Erie Hospital for Burned and Crippled Children, The Builder’s Association, The Chamber of Commerce, The Canfield Conservation Club, The Jesters, Al Koran, The Penguin Club at Youngstown State University, and The Ice Castle Scholarship Fund at Youngstown State University. He was also a passionate supporter of Canfield Local Schools. Lee’s vision, work ethic, and commitment to service laid the foundation for the company that continues to carry his name and legacy forward.

Ryan joined Hively Construction in 1996 and has been an integral part of the company’s growth and daily operations ever since. A 1996 graduate of Canfield High School, Ryan oversees a wide range of projects, focusing on the day-to-day management and coordination required to keep each job running efficiently.
He is also active in community and industry organizations, having served as Past President of the Youngstown Shrine Club and contributing as a member of the Ice Castle Scholarship Fund and The Builder’s Association. Ryan now serves as a Partner and part of the ownership team, helping guide the continued success and direction of Hively Construction.

Bryan joined Hively Construction in June of 1995 and has been a key contributor to the company’s growth and technical capabilities. He is a 1996 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning a B.S.A.S. in Civil Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Bryan oversees estimating, project management, and purchasing for all of his projects. He brings strong energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork to every assignment. He leads our Pre-Engineered Metal Building division and has managed some of the largest Pre-Engineered structures in the region. In addition, Bryan handles a wide range of conventional, industrial, institutional, and governmental projects for Hively Construction.
Bryan now serves as a Partner and part of the ownership team, continuing to strengthen the company’s leadership and technical expertise.

Rob has been with Hively Construction since 1990 and has grown into a key leader within the organization. A 1991 graduate of Canfield High School, Rob is a union Carpenter Journeyman with Carpenters Local 171. He is an active member of the union, holds his 30Hour OSHA Safety certification, and has served as a steward. 30-hour
Rob is also involved in the community as an active member of the Youngstown Shrine Club. With decades of field experience and a strong commitment to craftsmanship and safety, Rob now serves as a Partner, contributing to the continued growth and success of Hively Construction.

Becky has been a valued member of Hively Construction since 1996. She is a 2003 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Becky brings strong accounting expertise and organizational skills to the team. Over the years, she has taken on a wide range of Accounting and Administrative responsibilities, including Payroll, Union Reporting, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Managing the company’s Safety Program and Implementation and daily operational support. Her dedication and attention to detail have made her an essential part of the company’s success.

Joe joined Hively Construction in 1995 and has served as a project superintendent since the day he arrived. He is a 1985 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science in Civil Engineering Technology.
With a wide range of field experience and an extensive knowledge of sitework, Joe brings strong technical expertise and steady leadership to every project he oversees. His longstanding commitment to quality and efficiency continues to make him a valuable asset to the Hively Construction team.
